During this 2 days tutorial short course the attendee will have a hands-on training:

Figure. The proposed study case composed of a rigid body, 2 symmetrical flexible solar arrays at a varying angular configuration and 4 reactions wheels in a pyramidal configuration.

  • on the modeling tool SDTlib used to create under  MATLAB/SIMULINK the 6 degrees of freedom model of a large flexible spacecraft (see Figure), fully parametrized  according to the uncertain parameters and  the varying  geometrical configuration (solar array angular  configuration),
  • on the robust attitude control of the uncertain model to meet multi-objective  specifications,
  • on the robustness analysis tools SMART and STOWAT for robust performance assessment form a deterministic  point of view or stochastic  point of view.

The objective of this training is to show how these tools can be used to   take into account V&V considerations as soon as possible in the design process  and very early in the preliminary design phase and to see the complementarity between deterministic and probabilistic µ-analysis tools.

Attendee profile: industrial engineers, space agency staff, academics, PhD students with a background in space engineering, mechanical engineering and servo-loop systems

A desktop computer with MATLAB will be provided to each attendee who can also use his own laptop (with the required MATLAB toolboxes). Lunches are also included in the price.
