Massively parallel methods for data-driven modelling and simulation in computational mechanics

With the advent of volumetric imaging (RMI, scanner, ...), obtaining accurate three-dimensional images of objects now becomes a reality. These images are currently used to derive appropriate numerical mechanical models that exploit data in close agreement to the experimental setting. This data-driven modelling approach opens the door for the numerical solution of true challenges in various application fields (computational mechanics, biomedicine to name a few).

The goal of this one-day workshop is to propose a state-of-the-art overview on massively parallel methods relevant for designing data-driven models and performing numerical simulations in computational mechanics. A specific focus will be given on iterative multilevel methods (i.e. multigrid and domain decomposition methods) and limited-memory preconditioners. 

The workshop is proposed as a virtual event only. Registration is required to get access to the Zoom address of the workshop.
